Being a police officer for the Seattle Police Department is definitely not an easy thing to do. From having to arrest a proposed tire slasher with a tub of feces in his possession to dealing with an imposter acting as a federal agent in a sex sting, the last thing an SPD officer needs is to be provoked.
So when you yell profanities at them and throw a large bottle towards their direction, there is no chance you will get away without being arrested.
That is exactly what happened to a 47-year-old man in Queen Anne on Saturday morning. SPD originally went to the man's apartment to investigate reports of the 47-year-old breaking his windows and throwing items out of them. When officers arrived they attempted to communicate with him through his broken windows, but instead of answering their questions he began running towards them with a liquor bottle prepared to swing.
A man was arrested after he rushed officers and hurled a large bottle at them. This morning at approximately 9:00 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 900 block of Queen Anne Av N to investigate a man who was breaking his apartment windows and throwing items out the window.
Officers arrived and observed a window to the apartment broken out. The officers attempted to communicate with the man through the broken window. He was sitting at his living room table when the officers started to communicate with him, but then he started cursing and picked up a full size liquor bottle, held it above his head while charging towards the officers, and then threw the bottle at the officers. The bottle narrowly missed striking the officers.
The man told the officers, "I will see to it you m---uckers are dead" and "I will kill all of you guys".
The suspect was ultimately tased and taken into custody. The suspect continued to resist.
After eventually settling down, the bottle attacker was taken to Harborview Medical Center for injuries received from breaking his apartment windows. He was booked into King County Jail for investigation of assault.
