Sometimes 61-year-old women from Snoqualmie get all riled up and just can't help but wander out to the driveway and squeeze off a few shots. These things happen. In fact, according to reports, they happened last night.
As the Seattle Times notes today, Snoqualmie police received a handful of 911 calls Wednesday night around 11 p.m. reporting gunshots in the 8500 block of Falls Avenue Southeast. When police responded, they encountered the aforementioned 61-year-old woman clutching a handgun.
From the Times:
With King County sheriff's deputies assisting by blocking off surrounding streets, Snoqualmie police responded to the home where the gunshots were being fired and found an armed woman in her driveway, police said.
After several attempts, officers convinced the woman to drop her handgun. She was arrested and booked into the King County Jail on several charges, police said.
The Times story notes that no one was injured as a result of the driveway gunshots, and says police are currently trying to obtain a search warrant to have a gander inside the woman's home.
What will they find? The early money is on a whole lot of crazy.
