Uploaded on Oct. 30, Velvet's latest cinematic effort is awesome for so many reasons, not the least of which being it features an appropriate issue of Seattle Weekly in its opening seconds. It also features Velvet's new vodka, which appears perfect for enjoying on stormy Seattle nights, or when plotting the demise of phony real-life superheroes.
First, here's Velvet's latest video:
While it will be interesting to see if the world can handle an army of Rex Velvets, for my money the most memorable chunk of the latest video comes when Seattle's premiere super-villain discusses body armor with his advising doctor (almost surely a not-so-subtle jab at Phoenix Jones' preposterous costume-related fundraising efforts.)
Velvet: What's this I hear about armor?
Doctor: Well, it's not really armor - it's more of a wardrobe enhancement. I take it you saw the drafts from the guys on Floor Nine.
Velvet: I saw them. What's the budget for those?
Doctor: The cost are significant, however we could explore public funding
Velvet: Public funding ... sounds desperate. And pathetic. Fire everyone on Floor Nine.
Only adding to the intrigue, Velvet has also recently introduced his own line of vodka, in partnership with Fremont Mischief Distillery. It's called Rex Velvet's "Sinister Spirit" Vodka, and it's the tasty looking stuff at the beginning of the latest video.
Velvet introduced the new super-villain booze via Facebook:
