Love is hard. Especially when it comes in the shape of a triangle. A soldier from Joint-Base Lewis McChord provided a reminder of just how hard it can be yesterday when a night of drinking with friends took a Jerry-Springer turn for the extremely dysfunctional.
As KOMO reports, the solider in question - who lives in Lacey - has a girlfriend who's pregnant. But that didn't stop him from engaging in a night of boozing with buddies and what's simply described as "another woman" at an apartment complex in South Tacoma.
Things got dicey around 9:50 p.m. Thursday evening when the soldier's pregnant girlfriend showed up unexpected.
As KOMO notes:
According to Tacoma police, the soldier's pregnant girlfriend showed up to surprise him and found him with another woman. The solider and pregnant woman began fighting and the woman damaged the soldier's truck, prompting him to pull out a semi0automatic handgun and shoot her car windshield, police said.
The report provides no info on how nice dude's truck is.
Anyway, the good news is no one was struck by the ill-advised gunshot. However, the soldier who fired it remains at large, as KOMO reports he ran off shortly after making the bonehead decision and has yet to be located - though the search continues as of this writing.
