Creating the petition through Care2 Petitionsite, Velvet's effort seeks 2,000 signatures. So far it's collected 136, but it's picking up steam.
"Superheroes are menaces to our city. They disturb the peace, rudely interject themselves into the business of others, and escalate private confrontations. Not to mention they pepper spray citizens. Sadly, our cities are no longer protected by our once respected police force, but by tormented, delusional freaks in masks," Velvet's call for signatures states.
"Real life superheroes are doing more harm then good and I'm betting a sensible, sane majority would agree with me and The Social Villains Alliance. Superheroes are a nuisances, problem children, snitches, and fakes. Help outlaw superhero vigilantism today."
The petition was launched and signed by Velvet July 10. So far it has collected online signatures and comments from across the country (and even globe), from here in Washington to far-off places like the Oklahoma, South Carolina, Florida and even the United Kingdom.
