A 36-year-old wanted felon with multiple warrants for his arrest fled into the woods yesterday when Pierce County Sheriff's deputies tried to stop him. While the man was apprehended a short time later, it wasn't before the K-9 unit and a Washington State Patrol plane joined in the hunt. Where was the man found? In a vacant chicken coop, of course.

With the suspect considered possibly armed, the hunt for the wanted felon was focused around Vickery Avenue East and 96th Street East in the Summit area of Pierce County - southeast of Parkland and Spanaway.

No stranger to the occasional Twitter punch line, Pierce County Sheriff's Department Public Information Officer Ed Troyer kept a worried public abreast of the search.

Just another day in Pierce County.
