Last night, to the chagrin of many Seattle basketball fans, the Oklahoma City Thunder, led by Sonics draft pick Kevin Durant, won the opening game of the NBA Finals, beating the Miami Heat. This morning, via Twitter, former Sonics player Detlef Schrempf provided some solace to the area's hurting b-ball fans, teasing some "big news" which he said would be coming later today.

At 7:26 a.m. Schrempf sent out his first excting tweet:

Three minutes later, he expanded on that thought:

What does it all mean? It's tough to say exactly, though it may have something to do with the announcement of local investors that are part of Chris Hansen's ownership group. Hansen went on 950 KJR this morning and named Steve Balmer and Pete Nordstrom as part of that group, names previously rumored to be involved, but nonetheless exciting to hear finalized.

As you'll recall, earlier this week Hansen challenged critics of his proposed Sodo NBA/NHL arena who question the traffic impacts on Seattle's port operations.

A rally featuring Gary Payton, Shawn Kemp, Slick Watts, Kevin Calabro, Blue Scholars, the Presidents of the United States of America and a perpetually hungover-looking Hansen has been scheduled for Thursday at 4 p.m. in Occidental Park.
