Seattle police are looking for a man who allegedly groped a woman in south Seattle in early May, and investigators say the attack may be linked to two similar gropings from late last year.

According to SPD's Jonah Spangenthal-Lee, reporting on the SPD Blotter blog, on May 6 a woman leaving her apartment near 36th Avenue S. and S. Oregon Street was attacked by a man wearing a mask, who she heard running up behind her before he allegedly "put his hand over her mouth, told her to be quiet, and then groped her."

When the woman fell to the ground and screamed her attacker, described as a, "thin man, approximately 5'10, wearing a brown jacket, black pants, and a mask," took off on foot. Spangenthal-Lee reports responding police searched the area with a K9 unit but were unable to locate the suspect.

While there's a chance this was an isolated incident, Spangenthal-Lee reports police are now investigating whether the May 6 groping in south Seattle is related to two other unsolved gropings from early December that fit a similar description.

The first of those gropings occurred on Dec. 1 at about 7:50 p.m. in the 7500 Block of Martin Luther King Jr. Way South. In that incident, a female victim reports being attacked as she unloaded her car by a black male who stood approximately 5'8'' and weighed roughly 140 pounds. Police say the suspect wore a black hoodie and a black ski mask. Luckily, the woman was able to fend off her attacker, who then fled on foot.

In the other possibly-related groping, which occurred Dec. 7 in the 7100 Block of Holly Park Drive South at about 10:30 p.m., another woman who had just parked her car was attacked from behind by a man in a black ski mask, described as a black male, 18-29 years old, and roughly 5'9'' and 160 pounds. The woman involved in this incident reports her attacker was wearing a black ski mask, a black or dark blue coat and black or dark blue cargo pants. As with the other gropings, the woman was able to fight off her attacker, who subsequently fled on foot. The suspect was last seen running eastbound toward Holly Park Drive South.
