Video Diaries Left Behind by Killer Peter Keller Called a "Movie in the Making"

It's been almost two weeks since SWAT team members with the King County Sheriff's Department discovered heavily suspected-killer Peter Keller's body in a survivalist bunker he'd carved into the Cascade Mountains. It's been over two weeks since the bodies of Keller's wife and daughter were found barricaded by mounted furniture inside the family's burning North Bend home.

Despite all the grim facts and bizarre details that are already on public record about Keller and his tragic, national-news-making meltdown, we're probably just now grasping how batshit crazy he truly seems to have been.

And late yesterday we learned about what may be the icing on the crazy cake.

KING 5 reported last night that Keller left behind a "series of videos," the last of which was recorded two weeks before he murdered his family - something the station learned from unnamed sources and was confirmed by the King County Sheriff's Office. Sgt. Katie Larson wouldn't really discuss the tapes with KING 5 other than to verify their existence and to say the agency plans to release them at some point down the road.

Oh, well, she did say a little bit more than that.

From KING 5's report, speaking of Larson:

She said the agency plans to release much of this material at a future date -- and she said the bizarre scenes on these videos are a "movie in the making."

Because dude was totally nuts. And people love movies about nutzo killer guys.

More crazy via KING 5:

Law enforcement sources who've seen these videos said they are surreal. Keller's voice is flat and he doesn't blink as he speaks into the camera outside his bunker.

He announces at the end of one video that this will be his last recording until the "event" is over.

Of course, the "event," one can only assume, was when Keller apparently shot up his family and headed for his secret bunker, stocked with plenty of weaponry and Folgers coffee. We published a bunch of photos from Keller's bunker here.

If there is a movie made about Keller and his deranged saga, as Sgt. Larson says there's plenty of fodder for, there's at least a 67-percent chance Philip Seymour Hoffman gets seriously considered for the role.

Unless it just gets turned into some sort of Lifetime movie ... which would be a damn shame. This much apparent crazy deserves the full cinematic treatment.
