Stolen, Miss Washington's Priceless Crown May Not Have Left Town

When you have something stolen, chances are you're never going to see it again. But some items are "hotter" than others--those commonly stolen big-ticket items that are hard to resell, like vehicles, Super Bowl rings, and that Whitney Houston backstage pass I bought. But the hottest item of all is a credit card, because trying to use one is a felony and will get the feds right on your ass.

Brittney Henry, the current Miss Washington, had her cards, crown, gown, sash, and cash stolen Monday night when her truck was taken from the driveway of her Edgewood home. The 2011 GMC Terrain was tracked down using Onstar GPS and found abandoned behind a Puyallup shopping center. Everything was missing, even the change.

Henry posted the theft on the Miss Washington Scholarship Organization Facebook page:

I am devastated that priceless items were taken including my Miss Washington crown and sash(s), All of the autographs from my Miss America sisters, several gowns, several pairs of shoes, and my purse, checkbook, and debit/credit cards.

I would be extremely grateful if you could help me by keeping your eyes open for any of these items to appear on craigslist or Ebay- particularly my crown and sash which are obviously one of a kind (they say Miss Washington 2011 on them).

Keep your eye on Craigslist and eBay? Those sashes and crown have "Miss Washington 2011" emblazoned all over. The hottest items in town aren't exactly priceless, though. MyNorthwest reports the crown and sashes will cost at least $500 to replace, but that isn't worth nearly as much as the cards.

Speaking of those cards, Henry says the robber is using them in Federal Way, Puyallup, and Tacoma. Pierce County sheriffs are already looking at video footage.

Henry says the crown is priceless because it has sentimental value: "Even if you get a new [crown], it's not the one you got when you won. That was the crown that made my dreams come true, that goal and dream I'd had for so many years."

Tacoma-Pierce County Crime Stoppers are offering up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest. Meanwhile, the pageant winner says the robbery has left her shaken. "It's scary because it was stolen out of my driveway, so whoever did this knows who I am and has all of my personal information," says Henry.
