Rep. Sam Hunt recently proposed a bill designed for the sole purpose of punishing Costco for winning its battle to privatize the state's liquor industry. The measure would prevent the Liquor Control Board from "issuing spirits to retail licenses to certain membership organizations." We all know who the lone target is here: Costco.
The Olympia Democrat's legislative temper tantrum -- Hunt admits it's "a protest piece of legislation" -- isn't sitting too well with a number of Daily Weekly commenters, who say he's nothing more than a sore loser and a typical left-winger.
This from Furrystoat, our Commenter of the Day:
"This is standard practice for the Left ... if they don't like the will of the people or the Constitution, they used the Legislature or the Courts to overturn their lawful decisions and crush the 'unwashed, uninformed masses' under the leviathan wheels of The State."
