Comment of the Day: U.S. Logger Gripes Fall on Deaf Ears

log01.jpg
Today's Comment of the Day winner is, let's just say, less than sympathetic to the complaints of U.S.-based loggers that their Canadian counterparts aren't playing fair.

Specifically, Canadian loggers are being accused of falsely claiming that their wood is beetle infested, so as to drive their prices down (against trade regulations) and snatch up more market share.

In response Indignant! writes:

Oh no, the horror! Canadians are selling us goods more cheaply than domestic producers! This is terrible news for consumers - wait, no, that's not it. Oh right, that's good for consumers, bad for a small subset of the population involved in logging. That's right, bad for 1% of the US population, good for 99%. Damn those sneaky Canucks!
