Today's Comment of the Day winner gives a stark ultimatum for the man at the head of the embattled Seattle Police Department.
The comment comes in response to alley & Mountain Fellowship Church priest ?Rev. John Helmiere's account of how Seattle police officers threw him to the ground and punched him repeatedly in the face during a protest at the Port of Seattle.
Joseph Singer writes:
Chief Diaz needs to explain what gives the police the right to use excessive force on people who are peacefully protesting. If he can't he should resign and if he won't resign McGinn should fire him. I'm in no way excusing people who throw bricks, rebar and paint. Deal with them and arrest them, but don't beat up on people whose only fault is that they were protesting a cause.
