Cliff Mass: The Worst of Winter Is Over

Seattle Winter 2008.jpg
Congratulations, Seattle! Winter (even though it hasn't technically started yet) is already over!

Local weather deity Cliff Mass says that, climatologically speaking, it's all up hill from here.

Writing on his blog, Mass explains:

The last week or two of November is climatologically the worst period of the year by many measures. For example, consider the average precipitation per day at Sea-Tac Airport (below). It peaks in last November and most of December is a drier.

Essentially, November is as wet as it gets. Recall this time last year when Seattle was in the thrusting embrace of Snopocalypse 2010.

Not that folks shouldn't expect rain and/or snow for the rest of the winter. But whatever the case, the worst is likely over.
