UPDATE: The 13-year-old son of the victim has now been charged with first-degree murder as a juvenile, Thurston County prosecutors announced today.
We'll post the full charging documents as soon as we get them (actually, since the boy is being charged as a juvenile, we won't name him). Meanwhile KOMO has a few more details.
Grim news out of Littlerock this morning involving a 13-year-old boy and his now-deceased father.
Thurston Country Sheriff's Deputies say they have arrested the young teen after his story regarding his father's death kept changing.
Details are still few at this point, but apparently the boy's stepmother called police around 11 p.m. last night to report that her husband was bleeding. Police determined that he'd been shot when they arrived and later confiscated a rifle from the house.
The man was apparently shot while he slept in bed.
Interviewing the teen, deputies weren't satisfied with his evolving record of events, and they soon booked him for second-degree murder.
No motive for the killing has been determined as of yet, and domestic violence is not thought to have occurred in the home.
The boy, nonetheless, will wait out the investigation in jail.
