The latest pasty roux comes in the form of an arrest.
No, police didn't arrest Josh Powell, Susan Powell's husband and the last man to see her before he went camping in the Utah desert almost two years ago and came home to find her gone. Police arrested Josh's father, Steven, the man who began the saga by defending his son, but later started talking about the supposed secret love affair that he himself had with her.
The charge: Voyeurism and possessing child porn.
It would seem that Steven may have had quite the amateur photography hobby.
Several computers, digital media, recordings, and photographs seized from Steven and Josh Powell's home contained "thousands of images of females being videotaped without their knowledge, including Susan Powell," said the Pierce County Prosecuting Attorney's Office. "The photographer focuses on the women's buttocks, breasts, and genital areas. Many images were of minor females." Some of the victims have been identified as children who used to live near Steve.
"We found many pictures of young girls as young as, we believe, 7 years old in explicit positions," Pierce County sheriff's spokesman Ed Troyer said. "They're pictures he shouldn't have taken -- pictures of girls in showers, on toilets, in the bath ... He's basically a peeping Tom with high-end camera equipment."
Susan Powell's body, meanwhile, continues to elude authorities. The last human remains that were found in the desert only 10 days ago are still being tested, but police are still tearing up the landscape looking for bones.
