Kennewick City Council Candidate Loren Nichols has a simple plan for dealing with illegal immigration: Kill all illegal immigrants.
Also, Spanish? Yeah, no more of that either.
Take a trip down the racism rabbit hole, won't you?
The interview was on KONA Radio AM 610 with Jeff Phillips. The topic was why on earth anyone should vote for Loren Nichols.
Let's listen (the good stuff starts at the 3:35 mark).
OK, let's recap the wisdom of immigration reform, according to Mr. Nichols.
--The city of Kennewick should pay $1,000 to anyone who turns in an illegal immigrant.
--"If any illegal immigrants value their lives, they would leave within 30 days."
--Phillips: "Are you suggesting capital punishment?" Nichols: "That's what I'm suggesting."
--"It'll come down to how much illegal immigrants value their lives."
--"I'd like to see one language used. We've gotten away from that."
The Everett Herald asked Nichols to clarify what he meant about the whole "capitol punishment" thing, and clarify he did.
"(Illegal aliens) should be shot at the border. That's how much I value America," Nichols said.
That's quite a value system you have there, sir.
UPDATE: I just got off the phone with Mr. Nichols.
Here's how that conversation went.
On whether he wants to clarify his position on illegal immigration:
"People they think I want to go out and actively have illegal immigrants killed. I want [the death penalty] as a motive to get them out of the country. It'll be up to them to say 'Gee, I value my own life.'"
On how he'd keep illegal immigrants out in the first place:
"At the border we need military presence there. It comes down to illegal foreign invasion of U.S. soil. That should be met with deadly force. Coming in, invading U.S. soil, that's an act of war."
On how he'd go about rounding up the undocumented immigrants already in Kennewick:
"I think people could be encouraged to turn them in."
"I guess the first death or two that has to be processed would get their attention. It's unfortunate we'd have to do that. I'm not saying it's my intent to see anybody die. But I'd do what's necessary."
On some bullshit about Native Americans:
The Native Americans say that the land is sacred. They know what this is about. I honor them for that.
On whether he wants to take matters into his own hands if he doesn't get his way:
"I hadn't really thought about it yet."
