How come all of Adam Sandler's movies always have some kind of homosexual scenes in them? -- AK Abdual-Latif
As an accused terrorist, who traditionally keep a low profile, Abu Khalid Abdul-Latif seems to have preferred the limelight, parading himself across the Internet, throwing up YouTube vids, and leaving a trail of online comments, making known his hard-line Muslim views and intentions to find a new life in Yemen.
The SeaTac man, being held on federal charges of planning to shoot up a Seattle military processing station, also praised radical Islamic cleric Anwar al-Awlaki, an al Qaeda leader in Yemen, whose killing was authorized by Barack Obama.
"Many Muslims ran to elect Barack Obama," says Abdul-Latif, in one YouTube clip, dressed in camouflage. "But what has he done? He's done nothing and he made war against Islam. He's even put a hit on Anwar al Awlaki, our brother sheik; may Allah protect him."
In court papers, federal prosecutors claim Abdul-Latif also expressed admiration for Osama bin Laden and, with a co-conspirator, had planned a Fort Hood-like massacre at the Federal Center South military facility, preparing to die as a martyr.
ABC News reports that in February, Abdul-Latif posted an online ad seeking a teaching job in Sana'a, Yemen's capital, stating: "I am looking for an opportunity to make hijrah to Yemen with the chance of having a job waiting for me to teach English to any and all ages."
The word hijrah, ABC notes, means migration or a flight to escape danger, and in Islam refers to Prophet Muhammad's flight from Mecca to Medina.
Abdul-Latif's YouTube page--his last visit was two weeks ago--includes this credo posted by him:
All in calling to the defense of Islam and Calling to make Islam the 1st priority in our lives and death, in order to call us to join the Jihad in all aspects without fear of the kuffar political strategies. And calling Muslims to fear Allah and to worship Allah S.W.T. only.
Of himself, he writes: "Ash-Hadu An La Illaha IllAllah, Wa Ashhadu An Na Muhammadan Abduhu Wa Rasoolullah!!! All that needs to be known is that I am Musllim in full support of the religion of Islam and worship only Allah S.W.T. and my life and death are only for Allah S.W.T."
Responses by viewers to some of his comments include death threats, name calling, and this observation: "I don't understand why? he would want to hurt innocent people...but don't prejudice against ALL Muslims...they aren't all like this."
