Every morning I wake up wondering if today will finally be the day I get to write about the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton. Well, good news, meaningless-ritual fans! There's finally a Seattle connection to the wedding.

As GeekWire points out today, the website www.royalwedding.com is owned by local Seattle company Marchex.

The holder of that domain is none other than Marchex. The Seattle company may be better known for its call advertising products, but it also still maintains a massive portfolio of domain names.

RoyalWedding.com is one of those. And while the site is pretty rudimentary in its design, it is likely to get a huge traffic boost this week as a global audience tunes in to the fairy-tale wedding.

The site is obviously just a ramshackle framework built to make an easy buck off what has become the world's most shameless spectacle of palace intrigue.

I just wish I'd thought of it first.
