What's Better: Crack or Heroin? Debate Between Addicts Leads to Murder, Police Say

crack v heroin02.jpg
Like mayonnaise vs. Miracle Whip or Coke vs. Pepsi, the debate over whether crack is preferable to heroin or vice versa has raged among certain circles for, well, let's just say centuries. But while having a healthy Rock vs. Smack deliberation is one thing, slashing your friend's throat with a razor blade over it is quite another.

The latter conclusion is what Tacoma police say has been reached in the case of Ginny "Bridget" Thomas, who, they say, was killed after said argument got personal and she stabbed her friend Loniesh Veasey in the hand with her obviously superior dope syringe.

That's when Veasey retaliated by slashing Thomas' throat with a razor, they say.

The News Tribune reports:

Veasey told police she was high on crack cocaine and Thomas was using heroin just before "an argument erupted over the types of drugs each used," according to court documents.

She said Thomas stuck her in the palm with a syringe, sparking the fight, and then cut the back of Veasey's hand with a razor.

Veasey used a razor wrapped in tissue during the struggle and told detectives she blacked out during the fight, court documents show.

After killing Thomas, prosecutors say Veasey put on her dead friend's shoes, took her purse, cell phone, and credit card, then went to the hospital to get her injured hand treated.

It took some serious police work to trace Veasey back to the scene, the cops say. But thanks to a fingerprint and some phone records, they think they have their crackhead.

So, back to the original question. Crack or heroin? Which wins?

Apparently both lose.
