Swastikas, Plastic Forks, and Burned Bibles Lead to a Hate-Crime Probe in Spokane

The marks were written in pink--hardly an appropriate color for their message. Nonetheless, the hateful graffiti and plastic eating utensils that were found all over a house, vehicles, and a boat in northern Spokane on Monday has led to a hate-crime probe in which a teenage girl is apparently the principal suspect.

The messages, both vicious and bizarre, included the words "God Hates U" and "Go Slit Ur Throat," along with several swastikas, a Bible burned in the yard, and plastic forks, of all things, stuck into the lawn.

The Spokesman-Review reports that the woman who owns the house woke up when her dog started barking at around 2 a.m., and she went out and caught a glimpse of the vandal.

She apparently has "a good idea" who did it.

Two teenage girls live in the home and have been fighting with another girl. The mom says this particular girl is to blame, and that she included the religious references because she knows the family is active in a local church.

The mother says she doesn't think it was a hate crime, but police are still treating it as such for now.

You tell us:

A rare occasion in which a smiley face is used to punctuate the phrase "God Hates U"

A devil reference? An anti-fast-food joke? Only time will tell.
