"Fabricate Yourself" With a Kinect and a 3-D Printer (VIDEO)

Have you ever been watching Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back and said: "Man, I wonder what I'd look like if Darth Vader froze me in Carbonite"? No? Me neither. But if so, or if you just think it'd be cool to have a action-figure-size plastic representation of yourself, there's a way to do it with a Kinect and a 3-D printer.

Granted, these plastic fabrications made by Tokyo-based designer Karl D.D. Willis are far from exact 3-D replicas--in fact, they're kind of hard to make out.

But look at it as the first step in a process that will eventually make it possible to create your own self-styled Transformers.
