The defending NFL champ New Orleans Saints are 10-point favorites to beat the Seahawks on Saturday. But Mayor Mike McGinn knows a thing or two about being a long-shot contender. So he's putting his cliché Seattle merchandise where his mouth is in a bet with New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu on who'll win.

The stakes of the bet, announced today by McGinn's staff, are as follows:

McGinn:

1. Music "from the Seattle scene"

2. A dozen Top Pot maple bars (over the objections of WR Golden Tate)

3. A pound of smoked salmon

Landrieu:

1. Louisiana seafood, including oysters and shrimp gumbo

2. A king cake

3. Music of New Orleans legends, including Fats Domino, Irma Thomas, and the Neville Brothers

4. Music from the new hit HBO show Treme

As for what constitutes music "from the Seattle scene," McGinn spokesman Aaron Pickus writes that they've got no idea, but that it "doesn't matter, really, because we're going to win."

Confidence in droves at City Hall.

But if the Hawks lose, McGinn could always pull a fast one and send Landrieu a dozen copies of Christmas in the Northwest.

Sorry, Mr. Mayor, your Mudhoney and Death Cab albums must have gotten lost in the mail.
