On a King County judge's order today, video footage shot from Seattle Police Ofc. Ian Birk's police car dash-cam was released that shows the final moments of Native American woodcarver John T. Williams' life. As has been covered extensively for months, Birk shot Williams four times, killing him, when he wouldn't put down a small knife used for making statues. An inquest to determine if the shooting was justified will begin Jan. 10.
Here's the video. Note that only a few seconds elapse between the first command to "put the knife down" and when the firing starts.
Also, it sounds like five shots are fired even though seemingly all descriptions of the event tell of only four shots.
