Amazon sold 13.7 million items in one day on Nov. 29. About 9 million of those were Kindle 3's. That makes it the No. 1, all-time, super-best-selling thing on Amazon ever.
The Wall Street Journalreported this morning that the Nov. 29 (Cyber Monday) 13.7-million-selling day was a 44-percent jump from the previous year.
In a statement, Amazon founder/CEO Jeff Bezos said:
"We're seeing that many of the people who are buying Kindles also own an LCD tablet. Customers report using their LCD tablets for games, movies, and web browsing and their Kindles for reading sessions ... Kindle's $139 price point is a key factor--it's low enough that people don't have to choose."
