Amazon sold 13.7 million items in one day on Nov. 29. About 9 million of those were Kindle 3's. That makes it the No. 1, all-time, super-best-selling thing on Amazon ever.

The Wall Street Journal reported this morning that the Nov. 29 (Cyber Monday) 13.7-million-selling day was a 44-percent jump from the previous year.

In a statement, Amazon founder/CEO Jeff Bezos said:

"We're seeing that many of the people who are buying Kindles also own an LCD tablet. Customers report using their LCD tablets for games, movies, and web browsing and their Kindles for reading sessions ... Kindle's $139 price point is a key factor--it's low enough that people don't have to choose."

The third-generation Kindle unseated J.K. Rowling's "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" for the top-seller spot.

Some of the next top sellers are weirdly talented old Scottish woman Susan Boyle's album The Gift and this magic wristband.
