Remember Jordan En'Wenzoh, the University of Washington junior we told you about last month who was buying up every case of Four Loko he could get his hands on before the ban? Well, if he hasn't guzzled it all yet, he's sitting on a goldmine.
Since the ban, prices for the forbidden drink, which you can still find on Craigslist, have gone up by two, three and, in one case, about eight times what they cost before caffeinated booze drinks were outlawed in Washington.
Here's an ad that just went up on Craigslist about 20 minutes ago. It lists four flavors: Loko Uva (purple can), Watermelon (green can), Fruit Punch (red can) and Blue Raspberry (blue can) for $20 a pop, but apparently includes free delivery.
Cans ran for about $2.50 before the ban.
The New York Daily Newsremarked on a similar phenomenon in New York City, where cans have gone for around $7 a piece.
The ads seem to be flagged for removal fairly quickly, so getting your hands on some may take some quick fingers on the refresh button.
That, or you could go to the liquor store and buy some Red Bull and Jägermeister and achieve the same blackout results for a fraction of the cost and with none of the black market headaches (only real ones).
