Rep. Rick Larsen Ahead at the Ballot Box, Already Defeated on 'The Colbert Report'

It's a bit reminiscent of the classic premature Dewey-Truman headline, but just as Democrat Rep. Rick Larsen came from behind and began compiling a small lead in his 2nd District re-election effort against Republican foe John Koster, Stephen Colbert finished him off. Colbert included Larsen in his Wednesday "goodbye to some of our fallen friends" segment, thinking he'd lost.

Larsen was among the pols brave (stupid?) enough to play straight man for earlier Colbert interviews called Better Know A District. The tribute clip of Larsen--who has now turned a 1,500-vote deficit into a 1,450-vote lead (but likely facing a recount)--spotlights his confession to flip-flopping on legislation, rather than the more memorable moment from the full interview when Colbert asked Larsen a question about medical marijuana, then inquired: "Are you high right now?" Clip below; Larsen at 7:20 mark.
