Pilita Corrales likes to spend money. The former SuperSonics dancer now shimmying for a local indoor lacrosse team makes that much clear in the hobbies section of her bio: "I also love fashion and love to personal shop and style people," she says. Unfortunately for Corrales' boss, the money she used to pursue her favorite hobby wasn't her own.

According to the P-I, Corrales allegedly embezzled more than $250,000 from the construction supply firm where she worked, money she reportedly used to pamper herself.
A review of checks allegedly forged by Corrales showed that she cashed or deposited $123,175 in bogus checks, the detective noted. Investigators also found that Corrales had transferred thousands of dollars to pay her rent and personal credit card bills.

Pilita Corrales is accused of stealing more than a quarter of a million dollars from her employer.
The detective went on to claim Corrales changed a company credit card's billing address to that of her Maple Leaf neighborhood home. After doing so, Litsjo alleged, Corrales ran up close to $88,000 in charges at various locations.

Litsjo alleged Corrales used the cards to pay thousands of dollars to salons, clothing stores and luxury hotels. She also spent more than $5,000 on tuition at the University of Phoenix Online and the Art Institute of Seattle.

It's bad enough that Corrales may have bilked her boss. Even worse is what she might have done to her co-workers.

Because her company was losing money, it was forced to fire some of Corrales' fellow employees. This being a recession and all, it couldn't afford to misplace a quarter-million dollars and still keep a full payroll.

Corrales has now been charged with 10 counts of first-degree theft.
