With the sporting world focused on those quaint little soccer matches in South Africa, you may not have heard a lot about last night's NBA Finals game, where former Rainier Beach High and University of Washington star Nate Robinson provided his Boston Celtics a needed spark off the bench and added to his stable of already excellent nicknames.
Late in the fourth quarter, Nate the Great -- or Supernate or "Little King," as he was known in Rafe Bartholomew's excellent profile -- jumped on the back of his much larger, much sloberrier teammate Glen Davis, himself the owner of the endearing moniker "Big Baby." During the post-game press conference, Robinson gave Dreamworks' latest sequel some unexpected press when he gave himself and Davis a new nickname.
You've already figured it out if you gave the headline a good read or saw the picture above, which is Robinson's new Twitter icon. Jump forward to the 3:35 mark in the video below. Or just watch the whole thing. It's pretty charming.
