Seattle's web superstars shined (if the sun's not going to do it, someone has to) at last night's Seattle Weekly Best of the Web 2010 awards party. Winners, nominees, judges, good friends and Seattle Weekly staff packed into the lovely 2nd story bar of the Hard Rock Cafe to hobnob and celebrate our city's amazing talent.Earlier in the month, we announced the winners in 30 of the categories for which you nominated your favorite sites, blogs, twitter feeds, Facebook pages, and more. Just for the fun suspense brings, we kept the winners of five categories secret until last night, when all 35 winners received their lovely awards.
The winners of the five remaining categories are:
Tweet of the Year: Honestly, just too many awesome tweets/tweeters to choose from, but the award goes to @johnroderick "My new cat is a girl cat, and I haven't had a girl cat in years. Should I watch what I say around her? Will she ask me what I'm thinking?"
Seattle's Most Shameless Self-Promoter: Congrats to our own Best of the Web awards judge, Mr. Ben Huh of the Cheezburger Network! He gave the best acceptance speech ever, a la Stephen Colbert: "Me, me, me, me, me."
Seattle's Sexiest Blogger: This one went to the lovely and talented Miss Monica Guzman!
Best Local Cell Phone App: Judge John Cook said "Whether you're in Seattle, San Fran or Savannah, this is a must-have app for mobile phone users." Cheers to the folks at UrbanSpoon.
Seattle's Best Use of a Blog to Make Bank: More props to The Cheezburger Network, whose FAIL blog took this category.
More details on the party - and pics - coming soon!
