Thanks to that infamous and now-viral face-stomp video, Seattle Gang Unit officer Shandy Cobane last night earned Keith Olbermann's nod for Worst Person in the World - edging out a Texas drug suspect caught with pot wrapped up in his court papers alleging an earlier pot violation, and one of Olbermann's usual suspects, Fox & Friends co-host Brian Kilmeade, for a "some say" accusation that the New York Times' reporting aids and abets terrorism.
Though KIRO-TV broke the Cobane story, scooping Q13 which had the video first (and is now apologizing for the delay in airing it), it's KOMO-TV that gets the credit on Olbermann' MSNBC show. He notes that Cobane was taken off duty after "a local TV station showed this video of him..." then airs the clip with the Channel 4 logo. KIRO is continuing to lead on the story, however, reporting that the second officer, Mary Lynne Woollum, who stomped on the legs of suspect Martin Monetti, was involved in an earlier alleged brutal beating of another suspect.
BTW, at the same time Olbermann was airing the stomping video, this video was running on CNN - reporting on an undisputed world's worst person, the Edgewood Craigslist-linked murderer.
