"Is this the man you saw throwing the rock, Congressman?"
Health care reform rage! It's all the, uh, rage these days. Death threats by phone call; nooses via fax machine; bricks through windows. It seems like the most fashionable thing you can do in the wake of ObamaCare's passage is to wish ass cancer upon a Congressman. But are all reports of health care hysteria true? Probably not.
On Wednesday, The Seattle Times published a big news service round-up of all the threats directed at lawmakers nationwide. This included Steve Driehaus, an anti-abortion Ohio Democrat in heavily Catholic Cincinnati who got a rock through his office window after voting "yea":
Protesters have been demonstrating at Driehaus' Ohio home, said Tim Mulvey, a spokesman for the anti-abortion Democrat who joined Stupak in voting for the health bill. A rock was thrown through the window of Driehaus' Cincinnati office Sunday, and a death threat was phoned in to his Washington office a day later, Mulvey said.
