Microsoft's quest to be hip doesn't end with its products. Apparently it's a company-wide prerogative, right down to the geeky execs getting makeovers.
During yesterday's launch of the new Windows phone, tech blog Valleywag noticed that VP Joe Belfiore had gone from looking like a high school biology teacher who spends his weekends gardening to looking like a high school biology teacher who spends his weekends clubbing.
Belfiore's H&M transformation comes on the heels of a similarly done-over J. Allard, a bigshot in Microsoft's videogames operation. Thanks to a close shave and the always winning hoodie-sport jacket combo, Allard now looks roughly 10 years younger and 10 times more intense and futury.
In related news, Apple's Steve Jobs still dresses like a soccer dad. And he still makes better products than Microsoft.
