Seattle May Not Love Greg Nickels, but Copenhagen Does

Greg Nickels is spending four days in Copenhagen to chair panel discussions between city mayors on what they are doing to reduce green house gas emissions. He's there in his role as President of the U.S. Conference of Mayors, a position he won in no small part thanks to his call for cities across the U.S. to voluntarily attempt to meet Kyoto standards after the federal government declined to sign on.

It must be nice for Nickels to finish up his Seattle political career with a little time abroad, where he's still beloved as a champion of the environment. Nickels still hasn't said what comes next (though there's that rumor the man who left college for politics took a teaching gig at Harvard.)
