Excuse the momentary cross-pollination, but Voracious writer Mike Lewis' latest post is too newsy to pass up.
Blue Moon owner Gus Hellthaler says he's a reasonable man. That's why lame-duck Seattle City Attorney Tom Carr is welcome at the Moon's Jan. 4, all-day, happy hour to celebrate Carr's last day in office.
"I'd be happy to serve him," Hellthaler says, "if he behaves himself."
Hellthaler, like a lot of other bar owners, has a serious beef with Carr, claiming that the city attorney's "Operation Sobering Thought" stings unnecessarily targeted supporters of Pete Holmes, the man who defeated him in November's election.
Hellthaler seems to be willing to show his now-vanquished opponent some sudsy mercy. And thanks to an October e-mail, we know Carr is a fan of Manny's. Let's lay the odds at 3-to-1 that they're sharing a pint, and thus providing Seattle with its very own version of the "beer summit," on January 4th.
