Only yesterday we were saying the county's least-sexiest political race, for assessor, was finally gaining some heat (with Lloyd Hara accusing Bob Rosenberger of trying to buy the election with his own money. Now Hara pops back up with a complaint that Rosenberger is running a "false" TV ad. Goodie.
Hara says Rosenberger's ad is of "questionable legality" and "misleads voters into thinking he's been King County Assessor for the past 24 years." Now we're getting somewhere! Thing is, when you listen to the ad, the announcer doesn't seem to be saying that Rosenberger was The Assessor the past 24 years - though he worked in the office for that period - but that he was "an assessor" during that time. On the other hand, notice that the ad calls Rosenberger "the highest rated candidate by the Municipal League." Actually, the league says he's one of the two highest rated. Lloyd, fire away!
