Despite his unwillingness to admit what we're pretty sure is a healthy obsession with body waxing, University of Washington's Jake Locker is alright in our book. Who wouldn't love a 225-pound quarterback who completes nearly 60% of his passes and can run like that? (Points to above video.)
The problem with having an exceptionally talented underclassmen, however, is that other people get paid to notice that talent too. Two weeks ago, ESPN draft guru Mel Kiper said Locker was almost assured the number one pick if he waited until 2011. Now fellow ESPN'er Chris Mortensen has stepped it up a notch.
Here's Mort on Twitter earlier this morning:
Washington QB Jake Locker - if he comes out - is way up on teams' scout grades. Tops for 1 team in QB hunt; Bradford majority No. 1 for now.
Is it possible to root for Washington to beat Arizona State this weekend even with Locker throwing five interceptions and playing the second half with his shoelaces tied together? It must be, because that's what I just wished for.
