To the ranks of story merchants out to score the next Catch Me If You Can, today we add a production company out of Venice Beach, California. The documentarians (who, as is the custom it seems, wish to remain anonymous) are different in one important way. Rather than trying to buy the rights to Harris-Moore's story, they're more focused on the media's reaction, and facilitation, of the myths surrounding the 18-year-old.
The company claims to have had a film crew in and around Camano Island since last week, with more footage to be shot tomorrow here in the city. (More on that later, hopefully.) The pretty obvious reactions they're getting from locals: "We just want this guy caught." No kidding.
