With a fastball that tops out in the high 80s, French could use a little more mustard.
In the first installment of small sample size theater, Jarrod Washburn was disappointing for the Detroit Tigers. In the second installment, former Tiger Luke French was merely underwhelming. He went 5 innings and gave up 4 runs, including 2 dingers. But he's only 23, and all's well that ends well, as the M's got the 11-6 win anyway--thanks to 3 RBI by Russell Branyan and a triple from new Seely fave Michael Saunders, who continues to shine. (Speaking of continuing to shine, Adam Jones hit his 19th HR last night.) The real star of the game, though, was this cat, which delayed play in the fifth inning:
