Breakin' Records: We're Breakin' 'Em!

Seely may not be impressed, but most of us are. Last night was the highest low temperature on record, says Cliff Mass--a balmy 71 degrees. Even if other regions are accustomed to such temps "on the reg," as Kenny Powers might put it, they also have a lot more air conditioning than we do. Today could top 100, making it the hottest Seattle day ever. People are so fired up that they crashed Probcast's server. (Probcast is the weather forecasting service provided by UW meteorologists.)

The Columbia City library got shut down by the heat, but other city libraries are open as "cooling stations." And the city's keeping beaches open an extra hour, because every little bit counts. I bet Jeff Renner's glad he shaved his mustache!
