Gettin' Wonky Wit' It: Town Hall on the Future of Regional Transportation

If you're into light rail and streetcars and flying saucers and the like, you may want to attend tomorrow's town hall at City Hall. The first of three being put on by the Transportation Choices Coalition, it's called "Town Hall: Visioning the Puget Sound Region's Transportation Future".

Basically, it's a bunch of wonks (and you) discussing what things should look like in 20 years. (I have an idea: $1 billion a lane on a waterfront tunnel!). The subsequent forum will narrow vision down, and the final one will be a meeting with public officials.

The panel is short on neither ballers nor shot-callers. Behold:

Jan Drago, Chair, Transportation Committee, Seattle City Council

Kevin Desmond, General Manager, King County Metro

Chuck Ayers, Executive Director, Cascade Bicycle Club

Carla Archambault, General Manager, Zipcar Seattle

Eric de Place, Senior Researcher, Sightline Institute

Carla Saulter, Transit advocate and author of the Bus Chick blog on Seattle

Tomorrow, City Hall, Bertha Landes Room (5th floor), 12:00 - 1:30 PM.
