Mark and Carol DeCoursey nearly bankrupted themselves on "the fixer-upper from hell." The Windermere agent who sold them their house in 2003 also directed them to an unlicensed contractor that he didn't tell them was his business partner. The resulting repairs included a bathtub drain that conducted up to 110 volts.
In November, they won $522,200 for the home repairs. Today, they won $508,427 in legal fees. Carol DeCoursey says she expects Windermere to appeal. We've left a message with Windermere's attorney requesting comment.
