Dawgs on the Web

New Husky mascot Dubs has his own blog. The entries are pretty short, so it's a little like a Twitter page, but with pictures. But Dubs is young, so we'll cut him some slack. Plus he's a dog. And the pictures are really cute.

One question for his handlers: it says on the blog "Dubs loves it when the Husky Marching Band CD comes on because it means he gets to eat. He can finish off a cup of kibble during Vict'ry for Washington--less than a minute!"

Is this sort of Pavlovian conditioning a good idea, given the number of times Dubs will hear the band play at games? He's going to eat himself out of a job!

After reading his blog, Hot Dog and Friends makes the case that Dubs is the Pac-10's best mascot:

Is it just me, or is this one of the best things that has happened to the program in the last 4 years? I mean, I love Steve Sarkisian and all, but look at this damn puppy. He is fantastic. Best mascot in the conference. Kids, you want a reason to go to Washington? Dubs. Dubs is your reason.

You don't want to go to WSU, their mascot sucks. You can't raise a baby cougar to run out of the tunnel on gameday (ps - their stadium is not big enough to justify a tunnel anyways).

You don't want anything to do with Oregon either. One day, this pile of adorable fur will kill and eat a duck (or he would if I was training him). A duck is not a mascot. It is water fowl.

Finally, on a related note, Coach Sark has his own Twitter feed.
