Another Top-Rated Dawg Match

Once again, the only scientific determination of game awesomeness--Ken Pomeroy's computer's FanMatch system--has a UW game ranked as the top ticket. Tonight's ASU/UW contest (8:00, FSN) has Pac-10 championship implications--if UW wins, the title remains theirs to lose.

It also has NCAA tournament seeding implications, as ESPN "Bracketology" expert (i.e. another hoop scientist, even if he's not thinking with a computer) Joe Lunardi says UW has a shot at scoring as high as a #3 seed. That would be the team's highest seed since 2005, when it was a #1.*

*For what it's worth, I refuse to get over that year's loss to Louisville and the Jedi Mind Tricks Rick Pitino pulled on the officiating crew, who gave Nate Robinson his third foul for getting tackled by Francisco Garcia while letting Otis George level Bobby Jones with nary a whistle. May those refs wallow in hoop purgatory with Billy Packer, Howard Schultz, and the crew from the 2006 UW/UConn game.
