Seattle Is America's Most Wired City

So says Forbes. And, no pun intended, it may have something to do with coffee. While Seattle ranks 10th in broadband adoption and 2nd in access options, it ranks 1st in wi-fi hotspots.

At last count, it also ranks 2nd (to Anchorage, AK) in per-capita coffee shops, and it's not a big jump to think that the wireless access that those provide may be a prime reason for the city's top ranking. I guess this means we probably won't be getting any of the $6 billion in broadband stimulus money for underserved areas.
