As Laura Onstot notes below, there's ire building about the way the city handles snow (which will surely be exacerbated by what I, in contrast to my esteemed colleague, thought were eye-opening Seattle Times pieces on bureaucrats' refusal to use salt; if city officials have compelling evidence about salt's potential damage to the Sound, they should wheel it out pronto). But before you start griping too loudly, have a look in you garage. Is there a shovel there? I've been astounded that some folks, including a dear friend, do not own such a thing. Now, as the city can say in its defense, it doesn't snow this much that often. But it snows often enough to buy this handy little implement that sells on Amazon for under $15. You'll find it does wonders for getting out of the driveway. After that, it's the city's responsibility.
