Completely lost in the afterglow of last night’s acceptance speech by Gov. Sarah Palin is the reality that Sen. John McCain has to get up on the big stage and give one of his own.
And that is probably the only danger the Arizona Senator might have, whether he can live up to the hoopla that his running mate generated.
Kind of like a band having to perform after the Rolling Stones.
While Palin’s speech was the political equivalent of pwning a noob, you can probably expect McCain to focus more on his “Country First” theme. His service to the country and bringing a different attitude to Washington D.C. And maybe that experience thing.
The odds are there won’t be the amount of fireworks that were lit off last night. But this election cycle does continue to bring about surprises.
Drop a Quarter: Of course the biggest reservation voters might find with McCain is that reportedly he is a major ABBA fan. Can Americans truly risk having a Swedish pop band groupie in the White House?
Since every presidential campaign needs a theme song, one would think that ABBA’s “Take a Chance on Me” would be the obvious jukebox selection.
