McCain: Yakima's Man

jm.jpg

Here in the Soviet of Washington, who loves John McCain? Yakima. It is, so far, the only larger city in the state to give him more money than Barack Obama. Even conservative Spokane favors Obama (almost 2-1) moneywise, as does the Tri-Cities, although that was as of last month, before Sarah Palin, who has Richland-area roots, became McCain's veep-to-be hopeful.

The Left side of the state remains Obamatized from Bellingham to Vancouver (and Portland, where McCain trails even Mitt Romney). In Navytown Bremerton, it's a 3-1 edge, and Obama simply owns Blue Seattle, outdoing McCain (who still trails Hillary Clinton) 4-1 in donations. Some of the numbers from Opensecrets.org:

Seattle-Bellevue-Everett - Barack Obama $4,398,931, Hillary Clinton $1,469,132, John McCain $961,052.

Portland-Vancouver - Barack Obama $1,518,690, Mitt Romney $545,150, John McCain $521,002

Bremerton - Barack Obama $226,773, John McCain $71,740, Hillary Clinton $59,125

Tacoma - Barack Obama $162,545, John McCain $124,801, Hillary Clinton $92,583

Bellingham - Barack Obama $107,516, John McCain $33,481, Hillary Clinton $19,000

Spokane - Barack Obama $91,206, John McCain $52,376, Ron Paul $40,793

Olympia - Barack Obama $76,117, John McCain $39,401, Hillary Clinton $38,465

Yakima - John McCain $27,380, Barack Obama $14,775, Mitt Romney $8,600.

Tri-Cities - Barack Obama $23,900, Ron Paul $22,402, John McCain $18,351
