Palin: Caribou Barbie

With that widely reported 80 percent approval rate, Sarah Palin, Seahawks fan and vice-presidential candidate, appears close to becoming a live monument. And you likely saw the TV shots of the welcome-home rally for Palin over the weekend; an estimated 1,000 showed up to whoop and applaud (not that such estimates are ever exaggerated). Oddly, getting almost no press, was this event the same day, attended by an estimated 1,400:

Apparently they are merely among that 20 percent who disapprove of Caribou Barbie, as some call her. So, probably, is Alaska blogger Sue Williams, recently interviewed by the Examiner's Laura Vecsey. Williams has blogged some memorable thoughts about her fellow Alaskan, calling Palin "super goofy," citing instances of her "bizarre judgement" and observing that "it’s kind of interesting to note that the Republican Vice Presidential Nominee and her sixteen year old junior in high school unwed daughter were carrying babies at the same time."

Well, just politics of course. What's someone going to accuse Palin of next? Calling the Iraq War "God's Plan"? Hiring an agriculture commissioner for her childhood love of cows? Seeing Russia from her house?
