And they want you to come to City Hall. Seriously.
Says council member Jan Drago:
“I am looking forward to a productive conversation with the scooter community to see how we can work to better accommodate them in our city as a viable transportation option. Motor scooters are an exciting mode of alternative transportation."
Drago is a big fan of "alternative" transportation. She's also the one pushing more routes for the SLUT. Scooter riding is a choice way to get around, but this is clearly a cleaver ploy to get the Capitol Hill vote. Well done.
Local Vespa club representatives will be there-- as well as members of the mosquito fleet, who have car vs. moped horror stories to spare.
The pro-scooter forum is scheduled for Tuesday March 11, 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the Bertha Knight Landes Room, first floor city hall.
